Ground Beef Sandwich with Onions and Cheese

What can I make with ground beef?

So I had ground beef and had to figure out what to make for dinner.  The two things I have tried so far are a hamburger and tacos but I wanted to try something a little different so I wound up with a ground beef sandwich with caramelized onions and fresh cheddar cheese.  I think it turned out quite good!  I guess it is kind of a little twist on a Philly cheese steak but I’m not really sure because I haven’t had a Philly cheese steak yet haha.

Ground Beef Baguette with Carmelized Onions a little Garlic and Cheddar Cheese

So I got a fresh whole grain baguette from the store which by the way, Belgium really has wonderful fresh bread available and I particularly like the multi-cereals or multi-grain breads!   Then I cooked up some ground beef in a frying pan with some olive oil salt and pepper and once the ground beef started to brown I added in some onions and little pieces of chopped up garlic.  Then I took the beef, onions and garlic and put it on the fresh baguette and added some fresh cheddar cheese from the market on top and put the whole thing in the over at like 200 degrees Celsius until the cheese melted.  The onions caramelized well and are a little sweet and crunchy.  The bread is really good and warm but still soft.  The cheese is a great cheddar cheese and melted well with a little bit of savory flavor with complemented the ground beef pretty well which still was a bit salty and savory.  Overall, it turned out quite well and I didn’t expect to be able to finish it but I actually wound up eating the whole thing!
